Pat started Preferred Pension Solutions in 2003. She has over 20 years of combined experience in the area of Qualified Retirement Plans. She has earned the designations of Certified Pension Consultant (CPC), Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA), and Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) awarded by the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries.

The Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) credential is offered by ASPPA for retirement plan professionals who work primarily with 401(k) plans. QKA applicants typically assist with the recordkeeping, non-discrimination testing and the administrative aspects of 401(k) and related defined contribution plans. ASPPA requires a minimum of two years of experience in retirement plan related matters as well as the completion of an examination series. All credentialed members are required to complete CE credits and pay renewal fees annually in order to maintain the credential.

The Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA) credential is offered by ASPPA to recognize professionals who are qualified to perform the technical and administrative functions of qualified plan administration. QPAs assist in performing functions such as determination of eligibility benefits, computation of benefits, plan recordkeeping, trust accounting and disclosure, and compliance requirements. Designees must have a minimum of two years of experience in retirement plan related matters along with the completion of an examination series. All credentialed members are required to complete CE credits and pay renewal fees annually in order to maintain the credential.

The Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) credential is offered by ASPPA to benefit professionals working in plan administration, pension actuarial administration, insurance, and financial planning. CPCs work alongside employers to formulate, implement, administer and maintain qualified retirement plans. Credentialed members must have at least three years of retirement plan related experience and complete an examination series. All credentialed members are required to complete CE credits and pay renewal fees annually in order to maintain the credential.

Tamra Thompson, QKA, QPA - Sr. Plan Administrator

Tamra joined Preferred Pension Solutions in 2006. She earned a Bachelor in Liberal Arts & Sciences, women's studies from Wichita State University. She has also earned the designations of Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) and Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA) awarded by the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries, as well as holding a life insurance license. Tamra handles all aspects of plan administration including asset reconciliation and annual Form 5500 reports. Tamra is married, the mother of 3 young boys, and a marathon runner.

Evan Terry - Plan Administrator & Client Service Representative

Evan joined our team in 2016. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in communication and integrated marketing from Wichita State University. Evan is directly involved with all aspects of plan administration both on the sponsor and participant level. He is an avid sports fan and especially enjoys watching the Chiefs and the Jayhawks win. Evan and his fiancé are planning a fall 2018 wedding.
